a curriculum to help little learners thrive

Built within a culture of love, care and respect, our play based curriculum

invites curiosity, challenge and lots of fun!

Children at Small Fries enjoy a well prepared, carefully designed curriculum based on Te Whāriki (our New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum). Interwoven are our Christian teachings and values that make Small Fries an extraordinary and special place, which will support the development of your child’s identity and skills. At Small Fries your child will feel secure and be happy - this is the foundation required for any learning, and will enable your child to thrive!

This curriculum encompasses all aspects of your child’s day, from the moment they are dropped-off right through to when you pick them up. Te Whāriki’s vision is for children to “grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society” (Ministry of Education, 1996, p. 9).

A full copy of Te Whāriki is available at our Small Fries Reception, and you're more than welcome to speak to a teacher if you’d like to know more about it too!
